ACO Networks

Connecting People, Strengthening Mission

The Anglican Communion Office (ACO) endorses and supports a vibrant group of self-funding networks, which enable collaboration and mutual support across the globe. While these networks are largely autonomous in their activities, the ACO acts as a facilitator, providing a platform to connect these valuable, grassroots initiatives with the wider Communion. Networks are an important feature in Anglican global mission and social justice work.

Living Out A Shared Mission

Anglican Networks bring diverse groups together, from around the world, often with a shared interest or specialist expertise. Networks are voluntary, self-organising networks. They are different from formally established Anglican Commissions, which are set up by the Anglican Consultative Council with specific mandates to advise the Instruments of Communion.

Global Collaboration

Networks forster mutual learning and share best practice across geographical and cultural contexts to strengthen the Church’s mission and advocacy.

Advocacy and Justice

Networks often put faith into tangible action for the common good by advocating for peace, reconciliation, and environmental justice.

Spiritual Support

Networks nurture the spiritual well-being and resilience of Anglicans through fellowship, prayer, and mutual encouragement in ministry and life.

Education and Leadership

Networks aid learning and growth by connecting schools, universities, and youth leaders to build capacity and develop leaders.

Inclusive Community

Networks help the diverse voices of indigenous peoples, women, and different language groups be heard, valued, and integrated into the Communion’s life.
