Listening to the Communion
The Anglican Communion Office listens to member churches to discern matters of common concern and enable cooperative work across the globe. By understanding the joys and challenges faced by Anglicans worldwide, we can better connect, support, and strengthen our shared life and mission together.
Supporting the Instruments
Serving the Instruments of the Anglican Communion is one of the major ways that the ACO listens to the communion and discerns matters of common concern. The Instruments are The Anglican Consultative Council, The Archbishop of Canterbury, The Primates’ Meeting and The Lambeth Conference.
PROVINCIAL VISITS
The Secretary General and other members of the ACO staff visit or collaborate with Provincial Offices around the world.
ADVOCACY
Anglican advocacy work seeks to reflect issues and priorities in global forums and actively works for a more just and hopeful world.
DIALOGUE
The ACO facilitates several dialogues that aid Anglicans speak to one another and deepen mutual understanding.
A Dedicated Team
The Anglican Communion Office is the permanent secretariat of the Anglican Communion, based at St Andrew’s House in London. The staff team work to connect, convene, and serve the member churches of the Communion. They are supported by the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General, along with the Chair and Vice Chairs of the Anglican Consultative Council. From facilitating inter-church dialogues and global advocacy to providing resources for ministry development, the ACO’s work enables Anglicans worldwide to collaborate on mission and deepen their shared faith.
